It’s day three of my Seven Days of Memes; and today I am doing the Why Do I Blog meme by Strawberry Singh. Again it’s a series of questions Strawberry posted on her blog to copy and answer ourselves. I had fun doing this one and going back through old blogs and posts to find when I first started and laughing at the tragedies that were my photos back then.
How long have you been blogging?
The first post I can find is dated December 28, 2009 but I know I had another blog previous to that and I had that for about a year. So I guess either late 2008 or early 2009 would be the beginning of the blog bug for me.
I loved changing my outfits constantly and reading all the fashion blogs to find where all the sales were and what was “hot that week”. I remember thinking to myself ‘Hey I could do that too!’
How many times a week do you post an entry?
I try to do a post at least every second day. When there are faires or events on that I am a blogger for I usually get a post in daily though.
How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis?
If I’m being totally honest I would have to say only about a dozen that I read at least weekly to see what’s new. But I do flick over to other peoples blogs from links and such from time to time so I do see a lot of other blogs but I don’t follow them religiously.
Do you comment on other people’s blogs?
Unless it’s something that REALLY grabs my heartstrings or makes me want to rage face. I tend to only comment when I do blog challenges/meme’s and that is just with my link back.
Do you keep track of how many visitors you have?
Nope. Blogging for me is just that, for me! Yes I am on the official bloggers list for a few stores but they are stores I like, shop at and blogged without being on their bloggers list in the first place. Hits, comments, likes….all those things don’t mean much to me. I know people read my blog and that’s all that matters.
Did you ever regret a post that you wrote?
Nope. There is a post out there that caused a lot of drama a couple years back and I copped a lot of bullshit for it at the time. But I don’t regret it one bit.
Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog?
I would like to think so.
Do you blog under your real name?
Nope, it’s an SL blog so I use my SL name.
Are there topics that you would never blog about?
I wouldn’t say never. I mean there are fashions that I don’t like and I don’t blog them for that reason but in saying that there may come a day where I have a want to do a post about it for some reason or other.
What is the theme/topic of your blog?
Fashion mainly. I do blog challenges and things like that but they are all based around fashion. I also do, from time to time, inspirational photos. I take an RL picture and I recreate it using SL fashions/props/poses.
Do you have more than one blog? If so, why?
Yes I have my store blog. Eeeps that reminds me, I need to update that with the recent releases.
What have you found to be the benefits of blogging?
It’s helped me hone my skills in using photoshop.
So, why do you continue to blog?
Because it’s something I like doing. It’s therapeutic for me. I can take my mind off other things and focus on putting together a look that I like and finding the right pose and taking the photos then editing them and getting some self-satisfaction out of a job well done, well in my eyes at least.
